Eden Project

At BAM, we’re reimagining the built environment as a space where nature isn’t sacrificed, but celebrated. That’s why we’ve joined forces with the Eden Project to spark a movement that transforms construction into a catalyst for ecological regeneration.

Together, we’re blending BAM’s expertise in sustainable construction with the Eden Project’s visionary approach to environmental education and nature recovery. Our shared mission is simple; To inspire bold action, shift mindsets, and lead our industry towards a nature-inclusive future.

Eden Project BAM Partnership

About the Eden Project

Best known for the transformation of a disused and barren clay pit in Cornwall into a spectacular global garden, the Eden Project is a demonstration of what is possible when we work together with both people and nature. With its iconic Biomes, outdoor gardens, education and communities programmes, and international projects, it is a celebration of nature, culture, sustainability and environmental learning.

Our shared vision

A pioneering collaboration to restore nature recovery in the built environment.

We’re not just talking about change. We’re making it happen. Our collaboration is about leading by example and inviting our people, our clients, our supply chain and our industry peers to join us. By embedding nature-based, future-facing solutions into every stage of development, we aim to turn construction into a force for ecological good.

Our key initiatives driving change

We will work with the Eden Project to Educate, Act, and Influence

Eden Project - Educate

Educate: Create meaningful programmes that spark curiosity, share knowledge, and empower action for nature among our people, clients, and partners.

Eden Project - Act

Act: Work with our client and partners to deliver projects that prove innovation, and biodiversity can thrive side by side to protect nature and improve human wellbeing.

Eden Project - Influence

Influence: Lead by example, challenge barriers to nature-based solutions and openly share our journey, successes and lessons to inspire industry-wide change.

Projects that will benefit from this partnership

Healing through nature - Health sector projects that integrate nature by design with healing gardens, and green spaces to support patient recovery, staff wellbeing, and community access to nature.

Inspiring future generations - Education sector projects that create outdoor learning spaces, biodiversity gardens, and nature features that inspire future generations and support curriculum-based environmental learning.

Greener everyday spaces - enhancing BAM’s own estate with nature-rich breakout spaces that improve the daily work experience of our colleagues.

“Nature isn’t an optional extra - it’s at the heart of healthy communities, thriving landscapes, and a resilient future. That’s why we’re so pleased to be working with BAM: together, we have the chance to reimagine construction as a force for ecological renewal, showing that every project can create space not just for people, but for all life to flourish.”

Andy Jasper

"Since the early 1970s, animal populations have declined by 73%* and our industry has played a role in that devastation - but we now stand at the edge of a precipice. We can either accept that human activity has caused this destruction and work together to address it or we can ignore it and watch as nature loss inevitably results in damage to human civilisation. We’ve chosen to take a stand, and to do it alongside the Eden Project, to inspire and embed change across the built environment.”

Making a lasting impact

This collaboration strengthens BAM’s Biodiversity+ strategy and supports the global Nature Positive agenda - aiming to halt biodiversity loss by 2030 and achieve full recovery by 2050.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far:

  • 95% of BAM Construction projects now include wildlife structures.
  • 63% of BAM Infrastructure projects are already applying Biodiversity Net Gain principles.
  • Landmark biodiversity infrastructure such as the Cross Tay Link Road’s green bridge.

…But we know the road ahead is long. With the Eden Project by our side, we’re on a journey to restore ecosystems and reshape the future of construction.
